What's Up?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing, and I'm going crazy!  I. Am. Bored.

I know I usually complain about the drama in my life but I am so bored right now I'd take it, just to make things a little more interesting around here!  I should be careful what I wish for, though, so I'll stop now and just tell you what's been going on.

Tommy started a new class on Monday. It's so that he can become certified to do the swim qualifications for other Marines. It's a 3-week course about an hour north of here.  They are basically teaching him to be a rescue swimmer, which means they pretty much just try to drown him for a few weeks and see if he can survive.  Tommy said he literally thought he was going to die on the 2nd day. They had to swim 1000 meters (that's over 10 football field lengths) in full gear.  Yesterday one of his fellow Marines ended up in the hospital yesterday due to heat exhaustion/muscle fatigue. There is one exercise they do that they start out in full gear and shed a piece of clothing after each 100 meters... I must be evil, because when he told me that after they took them off the instructors took their clothing and tied everybody's stuff together in knots at the bottom of the pool (to have them practice descending and holding their breath while doing a task), I burst out laughing. I just had this mental image of all these guys at the bottom of the pool trying to get knots out of their clothes... anyway, he didn't think it was funny, because he is pretty much miserable and he hates this course.

I actually hate it too, because it means he leaves at 5:15 a.m. and doesn't get home until around 7-ish p.m., at which point he pretty much collapses from sheer exhaustion.  That's a long day for mommy with the kiddos... make that a long 3 weeks.  Olivia has decided that 5 a.m. is her new wake-up time and Wyatt is usually right behind her around 5:45.  Seriously... how did I end up with TWO kids that give new meaning to the phrase "morning person"???

Wyatt has two weeks of preschool left, at which point I will no longer have my Mon/Wed/Fri morning peace and quiet bonding time with Olivia. BOO! And it is now officially rainy season here in Okinawa, soon to be followed by the super boiling hot and sticky summer that I've been hearing about as second only to the devil's home down below.

So. That is my life in a nutshell. How 'bout you?

Sounds like our story too! Dreading the upcoming summer, and spending my days counting the minutes until the hubby gets home from his 12 hour departure- but then he just wants to eat and go to sleep (although, your Man has it far worse!!!!). A girl can only take so many walks and clean the house so much... I need a project. I will be thinking of you in our quest for stimulation!!

Why is it like this...you're bored and don't want to be and I'd LOVE to be bored and can't be. Life is just not fair. Supposedly our rain has ended and we are to have SUN tomorrow...we'll believe it when we see it.

LOL... I know, mom, that's why I said I should be careful what I wish for. A year ago I would have LOVED to have been bored! I just wish I could find some sort of balance in life... but don't we all?
