May Showers

Okay so, admittedly, April did not have many showers on our lovely little island.  It was actually filled with bright, sunny days and beautiful weather.  But it is now May, and rainy season has arrived full force on Okinawa... as in, it has rained every day in May so that would be 5 days straight, with more rain in the remainder of this week's forecast!

Also, we have had this season's round of Yellow Dust from China blowing our way and apparently Olivia is allergic to it.  We were outside all day on Saturday at various parties (that would be April 30th...and yes, it was rainy off and on that day too!) and by the end of the night Olivia was absolutely miserable.  The next morning she woke up with her eyes practically swollen shut, and two days later she broke out in hives from the waist down.  Now every time we go outside for even two minutes the hives reappear!  Yeesh.

So.... there has ben no going outside for this family this week, which has been...a challenge.  We've painted, we've colored, we've watched movies, we've played board games, video games, pretend games, gotten out old toys that had been put away, done various arts and craft projects and STILL I am having constant battles of the children fighting...!!!  Calgon, you are calling my name!

The bright shining spot in all this is that Tommy arrived home on Tuesday night all safe and sound, and a day EARLIER than expected!  The kids were so excited to see him on Wednesday morning!  And they didn't even puke on my neighbor this time.

That is all from our side of the world... what is happening in yours?  Leave me a comment and show me some love; I am missing everyone!

So the nurse in me automatically starts thinking about drugs for Olivia! Have you tried zyrtec or even benadryl (OTCs)? I KNOW how rough it is to be locked inside, fights break out non-stop with their is no entertainment!

As for Aunt Jean, she is doing fine except for allergies too. Tell Olivia that her Great Aunt is feeling for her. At least I do not break out in hives - it bad enough without this. Her cousin Matthew has been dealing with hives too. They do not know from what, but told him they should go away within 2 to 12 weeks. Sure hope Livy does not have to deal with it that long. As for the other Fitz clan - all 4 had a intestinal virus for over 2 weeks - going both directions. Monica and Andrew are happy to say finally no more throw up or poop to be cleaned up in the house (except for the Natalie's occational usual movement)! This is a blessing - at one point all 4 had it going both ways and not enough hands to keep up with clean up and laundry. Megan give Monica a yell, she could laugh about it now! We miss all of you - love from "ME"
