The Renaissance Men

Grayson & Wyatt: Renaissance Men :)

Today Wyatt, Olivia and I went with our friends Jennifer & Grayson to the Renaissance Resort beach hotel about 30 minutes north of here.  We had an absolute BLAST!  It is a full-on beautiful beach resort - I'm guessing 5 stars - and from what I've heard, about $300/night.  But for the small fee of about $13 you can pay to just spend the day there relaxing and playing!

They have an indoor pool with two awesome slides that are just the right size for the kiddos, and a huge outdoor pool with another great slide and shady kids' area.  They also have adult areas and an absolutely amazing beach.  After we had our fill of the indoor pool, we stopped to eat a yummy lunch.  Wyatt had his standard chicken nuggets & fries while I opted for a Japanese "tradition" - Taco Rice. It's a very popular dish here and I've never tried it... it's basically what it sounds like; a taco on top of rice (instead of the taco shell). Pretty good!

After all the swimming (inside and out), we decided to go check out the dolphins... yes, the resort has its own dolphins!  It looks like they do dolphin shows, and you can pay a fee to swim with the dolphins, too.  On the way to the dolphins we discovered a small "tide pool"-esque area where you can wade around and touch the various fish, star fish, eels, etc.  They also had tons of aquariums surrounding it so you could look at some of the creatures that would rather not be touched.  Wyatt and Grayson loved it!

We had such a fun day.  Wyatt is becoming quite the swimmer and I think Miss Olivia is going to be a FISH!  She LOVES the water.  She was quite content to swim right along side us in her floatie ring or on my hip.  I can't wait to go back to this place - it's beautiful, clean, and has very friendly staff.  Another great day with great friends!

I am consistently amazed at the endless adventures you can find on that island. And it looks like an AMAZING day for $13.

SO...somehow I don't think 1-2 weeks is going to cover all the places that look absolutely WONDERFUL and we MUST SEE when we come for a visit. How are we going to do this????
