Notes from Grandma - Part II

Call Your Mother
by Grandma Cink

Count your blessings,
Keep a secret and a promise
Leave everything a little better than you found it.
Don't let a minute of pleasure
be a lifetime of sorrow.
God gives us trials before he gives us gracious blessings.
Nature is all around,
just slow down and take a look.
Always give thanks.

And, in honor of the Christmas season....

Christmas Pudding
Author Unknown

Take some human nature as you find
The commonest variety will do
Put a little graciousness behind it
Add a lump of charity or two
Squeeze in just a drop of moderation
Half as much frugality or less
Add some very find consideration.
Strain off all of poverty's distress
Pour some milk of human kindness in
Stir it with laughter every minute
Season with good will toward men
Leave it till the jolly bubbles rise
Sprinkle it with kisses for confection.
Flavor it with children's merry chatter
Frost it with the snow of wintrey dells
Place it on a holly-garnished platter
and serve it with the song of Christmas bells.

I certainly feel blessed this holiday season.  Despite being 8,000 miles from home, we are surrounded by military family and friends new and old.  We are counting our blessings of good fortune, health, a roof over our heads, and so much more. We have much to be thankful for!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

Very True to Heart Grandma, Merry Christmas Megan, Tommy, Wyatt, miss you all. So glad you are enjoying your adventure. Winter here hit hard. Don't know if we can go anywhere yet, Larry took the tractor to see if he can clean out driveways in town,so I have a candle lit.
It became warmer so ice started to melt on roadways, but more snow and wind is next on the forecast.
Enjoy, and on to the NEW YEAR
