Friday night we were invited over to another Lieutenant's home on Camp Foster for dinner. It was great to meet them because we all have a lot in common. They are a little bit older, like us, have a son one month older than Wyatt, and she is about 2 1/2 month pregnant. We got to have a nice dinner and some adult conversation while the boys played together!
Saturday my friend Jen took me to this wonderful little greenhouse type place that is definitely off the beaten path. I have no idea how we got there, but the plants were beautiful, amazing and CHEAP! We got all this for the equivalent of $50 US Dollars!
Here is the end result for the front of my house. I also bought a philadendron house plant, a hanging basket that I have no hanger for yet (coming in our household goods shipment, soon), some ground plants that are yet to be planted, and a little bit of basil. I think it looks pretty good!
Saturday was Halloween, of course. We had been invited to Tommy's boss's house for a party. I had met his wife at the coffee and they also have a 2-year old that is just a month younger than Wyatt! Wyatt dressed up as a pirate from Pirates of the Carribean. He looked pretty cute, but we only made it to about 7-8 houses for trick or treating before the rain soaked us! No matter - the three 2-year olds had a great time playing together and we had fun meeting people and eating good food. I even got invited back for a playdate on Tuesday :)
Sunday dawned and we got up bright and early and made the drive to the Northern part of the island to the Aquarium and Expo Park. Jen joined us and it was an absolutely gorgeous day - 85 and sunny - and we got to see HUGE sharks (20 feet long!), a dolphin show, a turtle exhibit, and Wyatt got to play on their very cool kiddie equipment. We had packed a picnic and topped off the afternoon with ice cream before taking the scenic route back. We drove along the coast of the East China Sea.
sorry the lens was blurry on this one!

What a great weekend we had! We met a lot of great people, spent time with new and old friends, Wyatt had a blast, and we are starting to feel at home on the island. And, I just received the best news of all - our household goods are here and will be delivered on Wednesday!!!
