Beautiful Weekend!

We had another beautiful weekend here in Oki!  It was in the 70's and sunny all weekend, and Tommy was here again to spend it with us so we got out and enjoyed the sunshine.

On Saturday morning, Wyatt had basketball practice and then after Olivia's nap we loaded the kids in the bike trailer and went for a ride down on the sea wall.  There is a one or two mile stretch of sea wall that is a beautiful ride looking toward the East China Sea.  We did that and rode through the park and beach, and just as Wyatt had fallen asleep we stopped and got ice cream... out of a vending machine!

Have I ever talked about the vending machine phenomenon on the blog?  It's quite funny, actually, so maybe I should save this for another post. Let's just say you can pretty much buy anything out of a vending machine in Oki!

Saturday night we got to squeeze in a date night.  I really love our date nights.  We almost always eat somewhere that we've been dying to try and there are some great date night restaurants around here.  This time, we didn't have anywhere in particular in mind so we defaulted to sushi, which we have both come to love and appreciate.  We ate at a new restaurant and then did some shopping at some stores off base.  It was so nice to have the time alone together amongst the chaos of life with two kiddos!

Sunday was equally beautiful so we drove up to our favorite spot on earth, Manzamo Point - a.k.a. Devil's Cove.  I know I've told you about Manzamo Point (my happy place) so I won't go into detail, but the tide was heading out so we got to check out all the tide pools. We had a picnic lunch on the beach and played some more, and after that we packed it up.  The sun is strong here and we didn't need the kiddos getting sun burnt!  Later on, back at home, we put the kiddos down for naps and watched almost all of a movie, then grilled up some big steaks with a salad.

Loving this weather, the weekends, and having our whole family together!

Sounds like what life should be like in the Real World. Maybe I should move.
Gosh Olivia is getting soooo big. Kids love to be outside don't they? We had a beautiful warm day. BUt at the midnight moment winds are back. were 45 mph and to get worst most of Monday. We didn't wander away today. Watched Tex A&M beat Stanford, (Womens) and CMA otherwise I was entering card contests. I won 4 this past week.
